Patch 2.0.6 - Legendary crafting materials are obsolete
Today with patch 2.0.6 all legendary crafting materials are obsolete and went into grey items, which can be sold for 50,000 gold per piece.
Crafting
Legendary crafted items are meant to be both a stepping stone into end game items and a good place to spend crafting materials at the end game. While we like the fantasy of having the unique crafting materials, obtaining them was either keeping too many people from being able to complete the recipes in a timely manner or encouraging game flipping and similar less than ideal patterns of play in order to acquire them. As such, we are removing the requirement for unique items when crafting Legendaries.
•Unique crafting materials are no longer required
•Legendary crafting materials will no longer drop
•Existing Legendary crafting materials will now be grey and have had their sell prices increased
•Level 70 crafted sets and Legendary items with unique properties now require additional Death's Breath
•Level 70 crafted Legendary items without unique properties have had their Death's Breath costs removed
•Death's Breath is no longer required for most Artisan training costs
•The Mystic no longer requires any Death's Breath to train
•The Blacksmith and the Jeweler now only require 1 each to learn the first rank of level 11

How I start to playing a new hero?
I will start soon to play a new hero, a crusader.
I like the process to get a very good starting equipment and planing around this equipment and skills and only start to play the hero after I have good gear.
1. Level your hero to lev 70 - done
I used this method.
2. Choose a skill combination and get as most information about it. - done
Are there any important items to have? How to play? What stats on gear do I need?...
I read about the Lightning Hammerdin and I sounds very nice and after I get a Schaefer's Hammer which is a very powerful item for this build, I decided to start soon.
3. You decide to start to get equipment and spent your gold, gemts and crafting materials for your new hero. - done
4. Make a list of all items you have/need and which sets you want to craft an with which stats on it. - done
Because I allready had a Schaefer'S Hammer and a good dexterityThundergod's Vigor, which I don't need for my monk and where I can reroll dexterity to strength, I had a good starting point to work around.
The X in the first column means I have this item. The green color means it's good and I must not care about this slot longer. Blue means it's okay, but maybe later I try to get an upgrade or if I don't know what to do or bored from some other activity.
In the 2nd column, the red color means, if I get these Items I won't have much influence on the stats.
I have a Schaefer's Hammer with 13% Lightning Damage (15% max) with Vitality and a Socket. I rerolled the damage near max. Furthermore I have a Thundergod's Vigor with 15% Lightning Damage (15% max) with Strength, Vitality and All Resistance. I rerolled to max Strength, which was lucky.
I allready crafted a Piro Marella and got 9,5% Crit (10% max), low Strength, Vitality and enchanted a useless stat after many tries into 10% Blessed Hammer (15% max). The % Blessed Hammer Damage and Strength is very low and maybe I try later to craft / enchant a better one.
I farmed Normal Act1 Bounties in Split groups with my barbarian for the Ring of Royal Grandeur. Now I have one, which is very important. Maybe I try to get a better one, if I want to play my barbarian. As random stat I got a socket and then rerolled Life on Hit to Crit Damage.
5. Get every item one by one or farm first all crafting materials and then start to craft and enchant- in process
I allready got 2 Items. I got Ring of Royal Grandeur and crafted the Crusader Shield Piro Marella. For the Piro Marella you need Woven Plate, which I got some during my act 1 split bounty runs.
It can take very long to get the Ring of Royal Grandeur. If you have one from another hero, which you can use, it's a good start, but if you want have one with your core stat (ex. Strength) then you must farm it with a Strength Class. So maybe you have another Hero or wait until your new hero is equipped and then start to farm.
X. Which items / materials do I need to for crafting and enchanting?
Forgotten Souls
If you don't have a high amount on stock, you must farm Forgotten Souls.
You can get them from destroying useless Legendary Items or from Rift Bosses.
I would calculate 10-15 Forgotten Souls per crafted Slot for crafting and enchanting. You will get back some Forgotten Souls from destroying the bad crafted items, but you will need them for enchanting, so 10-15 is a good number, depending on your luck.
Gems
It depends with which quality of gem you are satisfied. For me it's only the maximum quality (Flawless Royal Gems). Therefore you need marquise or imperial gems and gold.
Marquise or imperial gems you will get from playing the game or from bounty bags.
Gold
You need gold for crafting gems and enchanting your items by your mystic. For every Flawless Royal Gem you can count 10 mio gold. For calculation the gold cost for enchanting it really depends on your luck, but 2 million per crafted item should be for a start enough.
I farm my gold with my demon hunter doing T6 Hell Rift Runs.
Legendary Set Crafting Materials for alls Crafting Sets
How you can farm it, you can find it here.
I would farm 3-5 Legendary Set Craftign Materials for every crafted slot. If you are unlucky or want better stats you will need more.
Legendary Crafting Materials such as Woven Plate for Piro Marella
White Ascended Items for Crafting Sets
For crafting Legendary Set Items you need white Ascended Items. Pick them up and store them for later use. There is also a rift level where you can get many white Items or there are vendors for white items.
Normal ROS Crafting Items (Reusable Parts, Arcane Dust, Veiled Crystal, Death Breath's)
If you pick up every blue and yellow item by playing the game or farming all other materials, which you need you will have enough of these crafting items.
I'm lacking Forgotten Souls and all other materials are no problems to farm, so therefore I will start to do many rifts in the next days. I will aim for 100 Forgotten Souls and then start to craft and farm all other items.
I will give some updades about my crafted gear and my crusader.

Update
Since my last post I played a lot D3.
I started with my Barbarian and leveled all my other lev 60 charakters (Monk, Demon Hunter, 2nd Barbarian and Wizard) to lev 70. After trying some different skill combination with the warrior, I weren't really satifsfied. The most common skill combinations didn't make fun with bad (starter) gear and some other skill combination are not this effectiv. So I decided to play my monk. For me it makes more fun and in the meanwhile I have good gear. I play a very common lightning build or sometimes with many ranged on higher torment level as a tank pull monk.
My Lightning Monk Skills
My Tank Pull Monk Skills
After I gambled a Cindercoat with Dexterity and for variation I play more often my Demon Hunter.
I'm playing a Cluster Arrow Fire build. I'm doing Normal Split Bounty runs and farming Gold and XP with my Demon Hunter. As long as Hell Rift Runs are viable on high torment I will spent more time in farming gold and XP. How this work you can find in the internet or in some days in my blog.
The advantage to play a monk and a demon hunter are that I can share many good items. Now I'm starting to craft 3 pieces of the Asheara Set and 2 pieces from the Captain Crimson Set for my Demon Hunter to optimize my gold runs.
Now my Demon Hunter is again a Gold Find Charakter, only difference is the gold come from bounties and not from monsters. In memory at the start of D3 my old DH gold find guide, which didn't worked very long and with usage of the Auction House not effective then playing a trader.

Tazeon Diablo 3 Blog is now back again!
I started to play on the weekend and my short conclusion. This game makes fun again.
Leveling to 70 goes fast and if you don't spent all your freetime with diablo3 you will be happy for a long time with d3 ros, because there is so much todo.
Therefore I don't spent all my computer time with d3 ros.
I started to level my barbarian to lev 70 with the act5 campaign mode. Nothing special with the campaign which amazed me. Now I'm playing the adventure mode on very low difficult. If you don't have good gear it real is funny to find new items and get sometimes improvement in a very short period of time.
I'm playing an unusal skill combination, but if I have fun and can kill monsters without slow my group to much down, it's okay for me. My first goal with the barbarian is to get gear that I can play Torment I solo with the skills I like. Then I will level other charakters or test the crusader.
My first guide will be a starter guide - whats usful to craft and farm at the start to get an acceptable equipment. Because there are so many different things to do like bounty runs, rifts, ros hellfire ring, campaign, crafting, enchanting,...

New Words created! Loot 2.0, Paragon 2.0
With the new expansion Reaper of Souls there many interesting changes, which we know so far.
Loot 2.0
•Less items will drop in comparison to D3 Vanilla.
•Vanilla farming run would give 256 normal, 399 magic, 275 rares and 1 legendary item, in Reaper of Souls the same run would give 73 normal, 266 magic, 83 rare and 6 legendary items!
•White items will be useful as a new crafting reagent.
•Smart Drop is a system which gives each item a chance that its affix rolls will be focused on the class currently being played.
•From some of the items seen (3k DPS and 300+ mainstat weapons), the new Level 70 items will have more potential and (eventually) overpower all current Level 63 Affix Items.
•All Legendaries can roll at all levels (with power/affixes and level requirement that match that level).
•Legendary will be build-changers, by drastically changing particular skills.
Paragon 2.0
•The Paragon system has had a huge overhaul. It is no longer per-character, but account wide
•Instead of the current bonuses your account gains 1 Paragon Point per level to spend on different stats
•No longer has a cap
•Stats are separated into Core (Str, Dex, Int, Vit), Attack (Crit Chance, Crit Damage, Attack Speed, Cooldown Reduction), Defense (Health %, Resist All, Armor, Dodge %, Block Chance %) and Utility (Run Speed, Magic Find, Gold Pickup Radius)
•Paragon Points can be respecced
•Each Paragon Level adds one paragon point to all your characters. You can distribute them differently for each character
•Retroactively Paragon Points will be determined by your overall experience gained so far, not the sum of your Paragon level number for your characters
•Paragon levels are separate for Normal and Hardcore modes
•Dying in Hardcore does not take away from your earned Paragon Points

Diablo III for XBox 360 and PS3
Today Diablo III is out for the console XBox 360 and PS3.
I'm only playing D3 for very few hours and hope for better times.
I'm not a console player and as the announced that D3 will be playable on console I thought that's stupid, but I hope for sucess, because this can help that the improve the game in a way which let us all have more fun and for a longer period of time.I'm only playing D3 for very few hours and hope for better times.

What's wrong with Diablo 3?
I like this game, but something is really wrong with this game.
I had several comebacks, every time with goals, but I can't keep the longtime motivation to play this game for a longer period of time.
Is it me or is it the game?
I played Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft and Starcraft for several hours a day and a very long time, but Diabo 3 isn't the same for me. Some evenings I play this game for some hours, but then I have enough from it. There is nothing which motivates me to play this game continously for a longer period of time.
At the moment I'm playing Bloodbowl.

Barbarian Paragon Level 70
Finally I reached Paragon lev 70 with my barbarian, until next week I hope I can reach lev 75.
I think with lev 80 I will change my gem in my head from a ruby to an amethyst and with lev 90 I will change my hellfire ring, if I have enough gold to buy another good ring.
I also equipped my Monk and already played a little bit with my monk.

I'm back again
It seems, that I can't focus a longer period of time on Diablo III, after some weeks of playing it doesn't make fun anymore and like work, but after a break I'm back again.
I don't know for how long I will be back, but if I play Diablo III I have aims and focus on some projects.
The last patch 1.0.8 was great for playing in a group and that makes the most fun for me now.
I'm still playing my barbarian. He is now plvl 64 and I play mp 8-10 with my 2 hand Keyfarmer build. I will make a post about my current updated build in the next days.
My gear isn't great, but I can farm mp 9 solo in an acceptable speed. I will not upgrade my barbarian's gear, because I will level him to plvl 75 or 80 and then I will focus on my monk. My monk doesn't have any gear now. 5 plvl per week would be fine. We will see if I can achieve my aim.
Beside of playing Diablo III I try to go earlier to bed and do some sports activity (like running) in the early morning.
If you want play Diablo III with me on the european server leave a comment, I need more acitve friends on my list to fill my groups.

Goals until patch 1.0.7
Until patch 1.0.7 I hope there will be enough time to reach my goals.
I'm estimating a minimum of 4 weeks until the patch will be released.
Goal #1 - Paragon Level 60
My barbarian is now Paragon Level 47 with 72% experience for the next level. My goal is to reach Paragon Level 60 until release of the patch.
Therefore I need a total amount of 1.031 M experience (36,8 M / day)
This should be doable also if I'm not playing on every day and not only farming experience. I will post regular updates if I'm in my plan or not.
These are my keydata to controll my progress:
| Date | Paragon Level | goal % | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Friday | 18.1.2013 | 50 | 17,86 |
| Friday | 25.1.2013 | 53 | 42,86 |
| Tuesday | 29.1.2013 | 55 | 57,14 |
| Wednesday | 6.2.2013 | 58 | 85,71 |
| Sunday | 10.2.2013 | 60 | 100,00 |
Goal #2 - Crafting Hellfire Rings
Crafting as much Hellfire Rings as possible for my barbarian. For this goal I'm a little bite prepared. I still have some organs and keys on stock.
My current hellfire ring has
175 strength
29 max damage
6% ias
I hope I'm lucky and get a much more better ring than this one.
Goal #3 - Having a plan for upgrading my gear and new goals for the next patch
Goal #4 - Save and increase my gold to finance my upgrade plans

Patch Notes 1.0.7 Preview
You can find the hole patch 1.0.7preview here.
I will comment the most intersting parts.
Not directly in the patch preview, but from the forums.
I don't think that there will be new and more effective farming routes then in act 3, but there will be new possibilities for diversification.
More account bound crafting items is very good to get a feeling of a success after farming for hours. A new goal to farm, not only for exp or the lucky 100 million drop. The %chance todrop Demonic Essence increaes with higher monster power, this will lead to more players farming on higher monster power and will be looking for cheap and effective farming builds on higher monster power, like my keyfarmer.
This will lead that most players will try to play on higher monster power and not farming on mp 0-2, because it is now the most effective method to farm experience and items. This also makes farming in a group more attractiv then until now. I'm welcome you to farm with me together on EU Server! :)

NV stacks will presist across acts.

New acount bound Crafting Recipes and Crafting Items.
Account-bound crafting reagent called Demonic Essence, which drops from Elite monsters in Inferno.
Recipes drop randomly in the world or from bosses.

New gems quality "The Marquise"Further option to improve your charakter and spent your money.
cost 3 Radiant Star gems, 20 million, 1 Demonic Essence
The design will drop randomyl from lev63 monsters
Monster power in public gamesFor me it will not make public games more interesting.
More Experience Bonuses in Inferno on higher Monster Power
This will lead that most players will try to play on higher monster power and not farming on mp 0-2, because it is now the most effective method to farm experience and items. This also makes farming in a group more attractiv then until now. I'm welcome you to farm with me together on EU Server! :)
We're also increasing the base pickup radius by a small amount.Good thing if you play with 0 pick up radius. I don't do this, but I like this small change a lot.
We're removing the incrementing resurrection timer on consecutives deaths.Nice change, waiting for 30 seconds after dieing several times in a row, because you pulled 2 elite packs at once is very annoying.
It will now be a flat 5 seconds in Softcore.

At first you have to farm all of the 3 Keys + the plan to build the Infernal Maschine:
•Key 1 - Found on Goat Mutant Key Warden in the Fields of Misery (Act 1)
•Key 2 - Found on Dune Dervish Key Warden in Dahlgur Oasis (Act 2)
•Key 3 - Found on Morlu Spellcaster Key Warden in Stonefort (Act 3)
•Infernal Machine Plan - Found on Terror Demon Key Warden in Silver Spire Lvl 1 (Act 4)
•The Key Wardens will always spawn in each Inferno game.
•Monster Level does not matter.
•The drops are not 100% guaranteed. ( At ML. 10 with 5 stacks of NV it is nearly 100%)
If you build your infernal maschine you have choose the last quest of act 1.
There it is possible to smash a door in the north near to the healer.
In that building you can open one of 3 portals to two of 6 bosses:
•The Realm of Discord - King Leoric and Mahgda.
•The Realm of Turmoil - Siege Breaker and Zoltun Kulle.
•The Realm of Chaos - Ghom and Raknoth.
•The machine only works to open a portal one time.
•A new machine will need to be crafted each time to open another portal.
•The portal remains open until the bosses are defeated or you leave game.
•The Vengeful Eye, Devil's Fang, and Writhing Spine, needed to craft the Hellfire Rings, are not guaranteed drops. (On ML.10 it is nearly 100%)
On ML. 10 these fights are really, really hard, espacially for some other classes.
- Ghom + Raka are pretty easy if you can dps both, so you are not reaching the enrage.
- Siege + Zoltun are more difficult because you easyly reach the enrage, dpsing just one.
- SK + Mahgda are the most challanging, because SK is nearly onehitting with his WW.
Keep in mind, that you can do all of this on a lower monsterlevel, but the dropprate of the required items is reduced a lot while reducing the monsterlevel!

Update
Update about me
Last two weeks I had not this much time to play diablo 3 as I want (soccer European championship and other activities), but I could level my barbarian to lev 59 and will hit lev 60 very soon. I also started my Hardcore Barbarian. She is lev 16 and at the start of act 2 normal. It's very funny to play hardcore, as long as you don't die and loose your gear :) I rarely farmed with my demon hunter, only a few runs in inferno. I also started to play a monk with exploring the hole story and lore.
I started to buy / sell in the American Auction House. I leveld a wizard to lev 9 on the American Server and started with low capital like 20k gold in the auction house. I have already 500k gold, but I'm only trading with the same items all the time. I'm making 10k - 15k per auction. I don't have the time and the incentiv to invest more time into the American Auction House, so I will continue with my activity as I'm already doing and will slowly increase my gold stock. I will make an own post about this activity and try to give you a periodical update.
As I started to play Hardcore, I also started to play with the Hardcore Auction House. The demand of items is a little bit different. Items with Vitality and defensive stats has much more value also in low level range. Prices are higher, specially for gems (amethyst). If I have more time I will write about my Hardcore adventure.
In the normal gold auction House I could make some good deals with less effort of time, but in the RMAH I wasn't successfully. Yesterday I sold my first item, after posting some garbage for 1,25€ (0,25€ after fees). The European RMAH market seems very different as the American. It's much more difficult to sell anything on the RMAH in Europe. I think this has some reasons. First of all the credit card isn't this common in Europe as in America. The ratio between supply and demand is in Europe higher then in America, so everyone tries to undercut the other. One reason for this is again how you can pay in the RMAH and because of this there is less money in circulation, which can be reinvested. Maybe in some weeks in the RMAH in Europe there will be much more sales then now, but to a very low price.
To make money in Europe seems for me very difficult with the time I have.
With the Patch 1.0.3 I'm not sure now, what I will do next, because there are so many possibilities. I want a good mf gear which is good enough to farm act 1 and act 2 or act 3 inferno, but I don't know now if I should invest into the Barbarian or the Demon Hunter, both make fun and are so different. Also I don't know now how the play the Barbarian. More defensive with Sword and Board or a big 2 Hand Weapon.

My Inferno Belial Kill (DH Solo Guide)
Yes, I did it yesterday (30.5.2012). After 3 hours of wiping I killed Belial Inferno Solo with my Demon Hunter and got several achievements. After the kill I killed him again with Macr0s, who already leveled a Monk to lev 60 and geared him for Inferno. We only need 5 more tries for him and it was much more easier then solo. For our team kill I used the same skills and items as I used for my solo kill.
This solo kill was an amazing adventure for me and through this practice I learned really much about my class and improves my playing skills. Of course I must commit that the Demon Hunter is the class which can do this in inferno with really cheap gear compared to other classes.
Inferno Belial Demon Hunter Solo Guide
I won't go into the deep in this guide. I explain how I did it and why. There are of course other and better way to do it and with other gear requirements, but as long the lead to the same success it doesn't matter.
Skills
Inferno Belial Build
Hungering Arrow - Devouring Arrow
hatred generator if needed
Elemental Arrow - Nether Tentacles
best damage skill for aoe and single target (can hit a single target more then once)
Smoke Screen - Lingering Fog
invulnerable
Preparation - Backup Plan
Discipline for Smoke Screen
Marked for Death - Mortal Enemy
increase damage and hatred generation in phase 2 and phase 3
Companion - Bat Companion
more damage and hatred generation
Tactical Advantage
movement speed increase for faster positioning
Archery
more damage
Sharpshooter
more burst damage, very good with low crit% and high crit damage
Gear
I have very cheap gear compared to other classes and what is in the auction house available. My weapon is a magic crossbow with 955,9 dps and critical hit damage increased by 52%.
I concentrate on high dex, high crit damage and ias (increased attack speed) on my gear. (not for Belial but as a general Inferno gear.) If you want spend more money then also consider crit chance and buy pieces like Andariel's Visage with dex, ias and crit. chance. I have following stats.
My quiver has +5 max discipline. This isn't much and if you find a good quiver or chest with other good stats in the ah then buy it for this fight. More discipline helps a lot.
Follower - Templar
The follower is your backup in phase 1 and phase 2. During my tries I bought some cheap equipment for him, because I didn't spent any money for him before and he died to fast.
Two Rings and a amulet with high vitality, maybe a socket.
A shield with high vitality, armor and strength.
A weapon with high vitality, strength and cold damage. The damage itself isn't important.
A Relic with high vitality and strength.
My templar was doing his work with following stats, but sometimes died in the end of phase 2, but this isn't tragic, because you don't really need him in p3 and he will respawn very soon.
67.217 life
2468 Armor
984 Strength
1699 Vitality
Templar Skills
Fight against Belial
The fight against Belial has 3 phases. Don't skip the cutscene between the phases. You can skip it at the start of the fight. During the cutscene you regenerate hatred, discipline and stack crit chance with sharpshooter.
If you take any hit you will die. Don't be afraid from dieing and if your resurrection timer is 30 seconds, make a short break like 3-5 minutes after you live again, to reset it. Use Smoke Screen as often as you are in danger. I died to often, because I want to safe some discipline.
Phase 1
Your templar starts to attack the monsters, use Smoke Screen and stand behind him on the left or right side. Then clear the first group very fast with Elemental Arrow. Then spam Hungering Arrow as long as the next group spawns. Then kill the nearest monsters with Elemental Arrow and use Smoke Screen if they come to close to you or to many monsters spawn on your side. Don't stand on an spawn point and spam Elemental Arrow all the time. You must learn where the monsters can spawn and how to handle this situation. In the beginning it's better to use Smoke Screen as often as you are in danger, because it's important to reach phase 2 to learn it.
Phase 2
After a short cutscene Belial joins the fight. Don't skip this cutscene. First use Marked for Death on him. Belial will charge you and use his cleave attack, use immediatly your smoke screen and go on range on him. Shoot Elemental Arrow on him. If he charges you again run away from him to dodge his cleave attack or to be safety use smoke screeen. Try to do as most damage as possible with Elemental Arrow.
After like 3 charges he shoots 3 green projectile at you. If you stand behind the templar and he eat the projectile focus on damage, if he doesn't eat a projectile dodge them. If you have him already at 50-60% use smoke screen and focus on damage to get him to 20-25% to start phase 3. Shortly after he shoots green projectiles, he summon monsters, which must be killed. Use Smoke Screen to get on range to them and kill them. Sometimes you can ignore the summoned monsters and focus on Belial if he is low enough.
Phase 3
Again a short cuscene, which you shouldn't skip. Now Belial is a stationary boss. At the start of the fight use Marked for Death on him and shoot Elemental Arrow. Green circles indicate where he attacks. If it's close to you use smoke screen and get some range. Continue to dodge his attack if the green circle is near you, but try to stay on the right side. If he starts using his breath go right edge of your screen so you don't get killed by his breath, if you aren't fast enough use Smoke Screen. Focus on damage by spamming Elemental Arrow. Depending on your damage and crit luck he will be very low before he uses his green meteor strike. Don't use Smoke Screen in this situation. IF you use it during the meteor strikes he will cast it randomly all over the place. Dodge it by moving and finish him off.
Achievements
I got following achievements with my Solo Inferno kill.
Why'd It Have to be Snakes
beat 10 Veiled Sentinels in 30 seconds while fighting Belial on Nightmare or higher
Good Eye
beat Belial without being hit by his projectile or meteor strike
Bad Breath
beat Belial on Inferno without being hit by his breath attack
Fist Missed
beat Belial without being hit by his fist attack
Out of the Shadows
finish the Belial achievements Why'd It Have to Be Snakes, Good Eye Fist Missed. Bad Breath.
